26 - 30 de Enero was a very busy week a Cooper Middle. We had our first Student-led Conferences and they were a success. My students were in the spotlight. They did a great job. It was a pleasure to meet all of my homeroom parents.

Lunes - Review ejercicios en workbook assigned on viernes (pages 48-52). Collect oraciones assigned (write 3 sentences using different subject pronouns for each of the following verbs - hacer, salir, poner & deber) Tarea: Finish workbook and oraciones for tomorrow.
Martes - Capitulo 6, Segundo Paso. Discuss the verbs hacer & salir. Review Asi se dice pagina 180 y nota gramatical pagina 180 & 181. Do ejercicios 22 & 23 en pagina 181. Tarea: Finish ejercicios.
Miercoles - Continue lesson from Martes. Tarea: Pagina 191 #3 & 4
Jueves - Capitulo 6, Tercer paso. Discuss the verbs poner y deber. Discuss vocabulario pagina 185. Do exercises pagina 186 #32, Pag. 185 #30 & #33. Tarea: Pagina 192 & 193 #7, #8, #9.

Viernes - La Familia Project due. Country presentation: Bolivia
Lunes - Discuss and collect the telling-time HO. Students will fill out a Foreign Language (FL) Survey for the Cobb Co. FL Department. Parents will be filling out 1 in conference week. Peer mentors were formally assigned. Tarea: Only for my Home Room - Please bring appointment confirmation for conference week.
Martes - South Cobb High School will vt and talk to students who will be going to South Cobb next year.Students who have not present their country research presentation will present. Continue discussing Telling-time HO. Give back Penpal letters. Students will make corrections to letters.
Miércoles - Begin La Familia unit, Chapter 6. Learn vocabulary and phrases in Asi se Dice. Students will work in teams. They will pretend to be a family. They will assign roles and practice introducing their familia to the rest of the class.
Jueves - 1/2 day sick leave. Students will work on La familia Package. Tarea: Finish package
Viernes - Country presentations. Distribute guidelines for La Familia project. This project is due viernes, 23 de enero.
Student Led Conferences, previously known as Parent Conferences will take place the last week of January. Appointment letters will go out Friday, January 9th. Parents who cannot attend the appointment given must return bottom portion of letter ASAP so a new appointment can be given. Please make every attempt to attend these conferences. Your student will be one leading the conference! It's a big step for them. I look forward to seeing you then!

Capitulo 3, Segundo Paso, paginas 85 & 86 en Libro, pagina 20 en Libro de ejercicios. Students will learn to tell time. Do ejercicios 6 & 7 en libro de ejercicios. Tarea: ejercicio 10 en pagina 85 (answer in complete sentences).
Martes - Benchmark Test - Math - Block schedule. Period 3, 4, 6. Same lesson as lunes.
Miercoles - Deliver Penpal letters. Review for test: sequence words & ordinal numbers, adjectives, using the verb "ser" to describe people & things, telling time. Tarea: estudiar para examen.
Club de Espanol Fiesta de Navidad 4:30-5:30
Jueves - Test. Penpals must answer letter received by viernes. Tarea: Make sure to turn in any late work from the last 2 weeks.
Viernes - Last day of 2nd 9 weeks. Segunda penpal carta due. 8-2 Christmas Party 5th, 6th & 7th periods.
The 8-2 Christmas Party will be Friday, December 19th during 5th, 6th & 7th periods. Students will sign up for a classroom. They will be responsible of bringing drinks and snacks to eat and share with others.
