Math 7 April 23

I would like to students to have a good nights rest for the CRCT so the rest of this week and part of next week I will not be assigning homework.  It will be up to the students to finish all assignments in class when I assign them.  Currently students are completing multiple choice questions with a partner.  This assignment I am giving them three days to work on.

Math 6/7 April 17

Discussed the answers to last night's homework assignment.  Then students worked in pairs to answer questions on  "Algebraic Thinking" problems from the Coach books.

HW: nothing was assigned

Math 7 April 17

Students continued to work in the Coach books in preparation for the CRCT.

Math 6/7 April 16

Students worked on theortical probability today.  We answered problems from the textbook on p 772 #1-6.  Then as a class we worked through worktext page 396.  Students also got to see my red probability bag.

HW:  worktext p397 all

Math 7 April 16

Students started working in pairs on geometry CRCT type questions.  Tomorrow the students will be able to ask questions on the problems that gave them difficulty. The idea is for the students to try thinking through the problems before coming to me for help.

HW:  nothing is assigned

Math 6/7 April 15

Today we discussed number 9 and 10 from the unit 8 pretest.  Then compared answers from the "Review of Fraction WS" and worked out some of the problems students did not understand.

HW:  textbook p735 #13-29odds

Math 7 April 15

Each class finished reviewing the Algebra Quiz and students were given the opportunity to make corrections.  All corrections were to be made on a separate piece of paper with the heading "Algebra Quiz Corrections."  Each problem that was corrections need to have work shown (if possible) and a sentence that shows why the student got the problem wrong.

HW: nothing assigned but students are given the option to do the extra credit assignment.

Math 6/7 April 14

The students continued working on the Unit 8 Pretest.  As a class we discussed the answers to # 1-8.

HW:  work on #9 & 10 from the Unit 8 Pretest then work on the Review of Fraction WS
