What is G.E.M.S.?
G.E.M.S. is a mentoring group whose purpose is to provide girls an opportunity to participate in activities that promote positive self-esteem, effective communication, and life skills. Each girl is partnered with one mentor and participates in small and large group discussions and activities as well as complete community service projects. Most activities take place during the school day with special attention given to minimizing the amount of time spent out of academic classes. The group began in October and will run for the duration of the school year.
