First, an enterprising student pointed me toward Lexile.com, on which you can quickly look up the lexile of the book you're reading.

Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Joseph Bruchac
In Code Talker, Navajos are brought into the U.S. culture to go to school. When the military needed Navajos, a lot of them wanted to be code talkers. These are people who spoke a language that America's enemies didn't undertand. The characters are all fighting for our country, and they are all over the world. I think my classmates would love this book. It's about World War II, and it's really interesting.
