First Perfomance at Cooper Carnival

Thanks to everyone that came to the Cooper Carnival on Saturday and watched the preview performance of the step team.  Their next performance will be at school.

Week of October 1

This week we will have ITBS testing and with that there will be an adjusted schedule.

Monday/Tuesday- Assessment on Nouns/Prounouns. Pages 1-12 in workbook will be checked.

Wednesday/Thursday- Research topics for a persuasive essay.

Friday-Begin the writing process on persuasive writing.

You probably won't have much homework this week due to testing. Take advantage because next week it's on like popcorn. :)

Extra credit coming later this week. Keep checking back.

Week of September 23rd

This is what we're doing next week.

Monday- Open Note Assessment. HW- Finish Assessment Tuesday- Open Note Assessment Cont. For Slackers, Everyone else move on to workbook pages 1-6. Finish pages for HW. Wednesday/Thursday- Block Schedule, Go over workbook pages. Listen to persuasive speeches. Friday- More with persuasive writing. HW- None.

This week we will start working with persuasive writing.

Monday- Persuasive PreTest, Define Terms, Review for LA Test 2- HW Study for Test

Tuesday- LA Test 2, NO HW

Wednesday- Watch Propaganda Slide Show, Discuss, HW "Persuadions is All Around You" sheet

Thursday- Persuasion activity, HW- Give me 5 (Persuasive Topics)

Friday- Listen to speeches, fill out speech chart. HW- None

Answer This for Extra Credit

Tell me what is the difference between Editing and Revising. "Comment your answer and get some extra points". Toodles.

Week of September 9th.

Monday- Edit your Rough Draft

Tuesday- Present Final Draft. Final Draft Due. Take Notes on Paragrphs. Do Paragraph Wksht for HW.  Open House!! 7-9PM

Wednesday- Review Parapgraph Notes & Homework. Do more paragraph practice for HW.

Thurday- Read Story. HW- Do Story Wksht.

Friday- Reveiw Homework. Binder Check. No HW.

Narrative Essay

Your Assignment is to write a narrative report. Your topic is a Childhood Event that was important to you. You must go through the entire writing process to receive full credit for this assignment. The phases of the process are Pre-writing, Drafting, Revising, Editing, Publication. :) the published copy of this essay is due on Tuesday, September 11th. They must be hand written, BLACK or BLUE ink only on clean paper with a full heading. Let me know if you need help. I'm available for tutoring Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:15. Toodles.
