Need Help... Practice With These...

The Current Holt 6th grade textbook. Your student has been given a username and password (unless a fairly new student, please make teacher aware that you need such)

SkillsTutor is a new site where students can practice additional skills that I have set up activities for... since we have been working on fractions and decimals, that is what the current activity is. The username is your child's first and last name together all lower case with no spaces; the first time there is no password, but please choose one asap; the site id (cooper02) should automatically be there but if it is not, please type it in.

Go for reviewing lessons or prelearning lessons

This is from the people who created the Glencoe textbook.  Although it is no longer the text Cooper uses, it is a great resource and free. It offers sample tests, research materials, games, and other great resources. * Remember courses 1=6th, 2=7th, and 3=8th grades.

Homework Help

2nd Nine Weeks Project - Let's Go Shopping!!!

Over the course of this nine weeks, Project HOPE students will engage in real-world quests to understand rational numbers. I am asking that ANY receipts you acquire over the next few weeks are requested to be brought to class for this project.

We will be using this information to analyze data by through comparison (bargain) shopping, constructing circle graphs to create a visual way to examine spending habits, and more. I am asking that each household submit at least five receipts because sometimes our students are not the most careful. Examples of shopping trips include: gas station, grocery, clothes, automotive repair, etc. As long as there is some detail of what was purchased, we can use it. I love the dollar store, but there is no indication of what kind of items I bought on the receipt.

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Beginning of the 2nd Quarter

Students are to complete the questions on the parent letter and check their answers against the answers provided on the back of the letter. Parents... I also ask that you read over the letter and your student's work to get a sense of what we will accomplish over the next few weeks AND sign it. This is a homework grade.

This syllabus must also be read over and signed by both parent and student so that you know what your student is to accomplish over this quarter. Please note that my home phone number is available for any questions, comments, and/or concerns you might have. Together, it is my HOPE that we can ensure your student's success.
