Second Nine Weeks

This nine weeks will focus on expository writing. We will be going through the research process. Students will select a topic of interest to them and become "experts" on the chosen topic in order to produce a well researched, and well written paper.

We will also study spelling and grammar.

Students are expected to bring their grammar textbook and workbook to class everyday. Students will not be allowed to share books or borrow. Lost texts will need to be paid for in order to receive another.

Second Nine Weeks

Wow! Time is really flying! We are in the second nine weeks of school. This nine weeks, we will focus on reading informational texts.

Students are still expected to read nightly for a minimum of 30 minutes and keep track of their reading on a reading log. This nine weeks, reading logs turned in after Monday will be penalized by 20%. Reading logs will not be accepted more than a week late.

In addition to school supplies, students need to have personal reading materials with them in class everyday.
